Help Indigenous Peoples Reclaim the Amazon

But in the eyes of the law, most of their land doesn't even exist.
Like thousands of Indigenous communities across the Amazon, they fight daily against the land grabs, logging, mining and pollution that's destroying the most vibrant rainforest on planet Earth.
But what if they didn't have to fight anymore?
Today, Avaaz and dozens of Indigenous leaders are launching The Amazon Peoples' Fund: a bold new effort to reclaim the forest and put it back in the hands of Indigenous communities. This fundraiser will enable Indigenous Peoples to buy territories, secure leases, and sign legal titles to protect and restore thousands of hectares in the Amazon rainforest.
This could be the difference between protecting thriving watersheds, planting tens of thousands of seedlings, and saving hundreds of hectares -- or losing this land to destruction, forever.
And it’s simple: the more we raise, the more we can protect. All powered by small donations from people like us, all over the world.
The Inga know that everything is interconnected. That’s why they've protected this forest for generations. The Amazon touches all of our lives -- and it's never been in more need of protection. Become an Amazon defender and donate what you can now.
