As citizens around the world, we commend you for creating the amazing Ross Sea marine protected area, and now call on you to designate the full network of marine protected areas around Antarctica, including the Weddell Sea, the East Antarctic, and the Antarctic Peninsula. Scientists say these precious habitats for whales, penguins and other incredible species need urgent protection and we are counting on you to do this by 2020.

Antarctica is earth's last ocean wilderness: a magical world of towering glaciers, emperor penguins, and killer whales.

But it's being devastated.

An entire generation of baby Adélie penguins has starved to death, and hunters just slaughtered hundreds of minke whales, including pregnant mothers!

Finally there's a bold plan to create the world’s largest ocean sanctuaries in these waters -- and we only need two more countries to agree!

The EU is championing the plan and has the leverage to get them on board, but it needs to show that the whole world wants it. Discussions are happening right now -- sign and pass this on, every last signature counts!
