Equal pay at the BBC!

To BBC Director-General Tony Hall:

A hundred years on from women winning the right to vote, we’re horrified that Britain’s premier news provider still pays women less than men for the same work. We call on you to make good on your promises to institute a fair and transparent pay structure across the BBC, and agree to independent arbitration on all outstanding cases with individual employees.

Equal pay at the BBC!
The BBC is supposed to be a beacon for fairness and impartiality -- so how come now, a hundred years since women won the vote, it still pays women less than men for the same work?

The truth’s finally out, thanks to salary data the BBC was forced to publish last year. And this morning, its veteran China editor Carrie Gracie, took a powerful stand, resigning on principle while presenting Radio 4’s Today programme.

Already, other BBC presenters have come out in support. Now we need to show that we, the license payers, want action too. Click now to join our call on the Beeb’s Director-General Tony Hall -- when enough of us sign, we’ll send activists to trail him everywhere he goes until he agrees to equal pay at the BBC.
