Send a message to Brazil's Ambassador
We have good news! Against all odds, the first humanitarian visa has now been approved. Thanks to Avaaz members, Salma* has received her visa and is days away from leaving Pakistan to start a new life in Brazil.

But Pakistan is ramping up their mass deportation campaign, and most visas are still pending approval.

The ball is now in the Brazilian Embassy’s court -- and we need to inspire them to make sure all visas are processed. That's where you come in!

Will you write a brief message now to Ambassador Olyntho Vieira? We'll deliver your messages to his office in Islamabad next week.

Even a few words of encouragement for the Ambassador are enough! Here are 5 things to consider when writing your message:
  1. By accepting the paperwork for so many activists and their families, Mr Vieira has shown that Brazil can be a beacon of hope for those fighting for freedom and justice.
  2. Mr Vieira has a final say on these visas, but he is being overly cautious.
  3. Mr Vieira may be soon retiring. This could be his legacy!
  4. In 2005, Mr Vieira wrote a thesis on refugee resettlement.
  5. Mr Vieira doesn't know the world is watching and counting on him to help save these incredible women before it's too late.
