Canada: Pharmacare now

To Health Minister Rona Ambrose:

As citizens concerned about the cost of pharmaceuticals, we urge you to listen to healthcare experts and create a universal pharmacare program that would give all Canadians access to the prescription medicines we need, while also saving us millions of dollars.

Canada: Pharmacare now
One in ten Canadians can’t always afford the medicines they need. But a universal pharmacare program could make sure that doctors' prescriptions get filled, and it would actually save billions of dollars!

A new expert study shows that with a national plan we could save $7.3 billion or more each year on the cost of medicine. Health Minister Rona Ambrose won’t say if she’d support this initiative, but she’s got two weeks before Parliament breaks for Easter in which she could do so. Let’s make sure she hears from us before she heads home for the holiday.

The next election is just months away and most Canadians want a new system that will bring affordable drugs to all of us. If Ambrose champions this now, she could see a huge spike in popularity before we go to the polls. Click and help build a petition of 50,000 signers, and we’ll place advertisements at Edmonton Airport -- to welcome Ms. Ambrose home for Easter.
