We are deeply worried about people’s health being sacrificed for oil interests in the so-called “Cancer Alley” in Louisiana. We urge you to halt all new or expanded fossil fuel and petrochemical operations in Cancer Alley and develop a concrete phase-out plan.

There’s a long corridor of giant petrochemical plants along the Mississippi river, spewing dark fumes into the air. Two hundred plants between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

They call it Cancer Alley.

The air is contaminated. The people living in the area have more of a chance to die younger of cancer or have trouble giving birth to a healthy baby.

Fed up of being sacrificed for oil, mothers and local residents are gathering forces to fight for their health. As the construction of 19 new plants is underway, let’s supercharge their call by urging the US government to stop new or expanded fossil fuel and petrochemical operations in Cancer Alley.
