As Day Zero approaches in Cape Town, we call on you to urgently develop a plan ensuring residents have access to water. We specifically call on Coca-Cola to 1) disclose local sources of water in Cape Town, 2) provide open access to that groundwater extraction to the public, 3) cut Coca-Cola production by half for the duration of the crisis, and 4) distribute bottled water for free to residents across Cape Town.

Coca-Cola's water consumption in South Africa is massive: it produces almost 40 different soft drinks and bottled water, and has a huge stake in producing beer. But beyond vague promises to reduce consumption and protect water sources, the company hasn't accepted any responsibility to ensure residents have access to water when Day Zero arrives.

Coke is one of the world's biggest brands -- let's call on the company to open its groundwater sources to the public, cut production and make sure Cape Town residents have access to water during this water apocalypse.
