Sudan is facing the deadliest humanitarian crisis on Earth.

A vicious civil war has now killed over 150,000 people and created the biggest refugee crisis on the planet. Healthcare is collapsing, children are dying of hunger, and world governments are doing almost nothing.

Yet amid the horror and heartbreak, something beautiful is happening.

Across the country, ordinary citizens are pulling together, running hundreds of community kitchens and clinics. Offering food, medicine and shelter, these Emergency Response Rooms have become a lifeline for countless families escaping extreme violence and famine. They're so effective, they were nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

But now even these fragile lifelines are unravelling. With little support from governments or aid agencies, community kitchens are running out of supplies, and many have been forced to close.
