EU: Ban toxic pesticide exports now
To Environment Commissioner Jessika Roswall, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU MP’s :
As citizens from around the world – including the EU and recipient countries – we are coming together to urge you to fulfill your promise to end the deadly export of toxic pesticides that are banned within your own borders. We call on you to submit a legislative proposal before the end of the year and ensure it is adopted without delay.

Getting a direct hit of poisonous pesticide can send someone straight to intensive care, and long-term exposure can cause cancer, infertility, and other horrible health conditions.
People are too terrified to report their suffering and dying because of threats and retaliation from the big landowners. One man was shot to death for daring to speak out. Governments like Brazil, South Africa, and others in the Global South don’t have the power to win against multinational mega-agribusinesses by themselves.
But the EU does. Many of these toxic chemicals are illegal inside the EU but perfectly ok to export. Seven EU leaders and more than 600 organizations are demanding the EU Commission end this deadly double standard.
If we come together in massive numbers, we can help tip the balance, showing the Commission they have the public backing to stand up to pesticide giants and finally ban these toxic exports for good. Join now!
