To the EU Commission and all European governments:

Elephants are in crisis, and could be wiped from the earth on our watch. As citizens from around the world we call on you to shut down domestic ivory markets, and support a complete ban on the global ivory trade which is fuelling the poaching crisis. Alongside these steps, we are calling for maximum efforts to end the illegal ivory trade.

We've pushed elephants to the brink of extinction but we've never had a more hopeful moment to save them.

China's enormous legal ivory market has long been the excuse for inaction by governments around the world. Legal markets gave poachers cover for their blood ivory -- they just pretend it's antique!

But China just announced they'll make the entire ivory trade illegal -- this changes everything! Now, EU countries are discussing Europe's next steps on ivory. Germany and Luxembourg could push to follow China -- let's give them the support of millions around the world, and keep up the pressure to save elephants for good.
