EU-Israel: No trade perks for human rights violations!
To EU Foreign Ministers and the European Commission:
We call on you to suspend Israel’s preferential trade access. Israel is violating Palestinians’ human rights. Respect for human rights is not negotiable under the EU-Israel Association Agreement. You’ve suspended trade deals over rights abuses before — and must do so again.

EU foreign ministers have to decide whether to keep granting Israel massive trade perks — despite overwhelming evidence of human rights violations in Gaza: children starving, hospitals bombed, civilians and aid workers killed, and warnings of genocide from UN experts.
All of this surely violates the EU-Israel Association Agreement, which requires respect for human rights. And the EU has suspended trade agreements before — with Cambodia, Syria, and Zimbabwe — for far less.
Avaaz just brought doctors recently returned from Gaza to meet with EU decision-makers, and on Wednesday, giant portraits of kids from Gaza will go up in Brussels. Let’s now also build an urgent citizens’ call to show we expect EU governments to suspend Israel’s trade privileges until international law and human rights are respected.
