You’ve felt it this summer: Europe is boiling, and it’s only going to get hotter.

The World Health Organisation has estimated that 120,000 people could die per year from heat related deaths by 2050. That’s why the European Green Deal is so important - it’s the only plan Europe has to tackle climate change by 2050.

Yet in an absurd twist, the EU has allowed the far right Patriots for Europe group to lead crucial climate talks in the EU - and it’s a disaster. Parties in the group have viciously campaigned against the Green Deal and are “resolutely opposed” to emissions cuts and green energy. They prefer profit from dirty industries to clean air and a healthy future.

But a huge outcry could still help stop this. Let’s do everything we can to make sure the far right doesn’t sabotage our shared future.
