Ferguson burning
The night sky over Ferguson, Missouri was lit by flames last night as gunshots rang out through air thick with tear gas and smoke. Outrage over racist policing has torn a community apart and turned an American town into a virtual warzone -- but together we can start to heal the trauma.

The latest unrest in Ferguson was triggered by a grand jury decision not to prosecute the police officer responsible for killing Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, but it goes deeper than a single case. All over America, young black men are targeted by police because of the colour of their skin. If police were systematically killing minorities in any other country, the world would be demanding an investigation, and that’s exactly what Michael’s parents want.

They’ve asked the UN Human Rights Commission to conduct a root and branch investigation of police racism and brutality in America -- but they need our help to make it happen. When one million of us join the call, we’ll take out unmissable ads near the committee’s Geneva HQ demanding that the investigation is launched.
