EU: No holidays while Gaza is being starved

To all European leaders:

Gazan children are skin and bones. Why do you continue to delay sanctions against Israel, instead of using your full leverage to save them? Gaza can’t wait until the end of the summer break. Act now: there's no time to waste.

EU: No holidays while Gaza is being starved

In the last 72 hours, 21 children have died of hunger in Gaza. Doctors, journalists, and humanitarian workers are wasting away from starvation, and hundreds have been shot dead at aid centres.

Just 10 days ago, the EU’s top diplomat refused to push for sanctions, claiming she saw “positive signs” from Israel. And now, as the world’s front pages show children reduced to skin and bones, EU leaders want to postpone any action until after their summer break? No way.

But a diplomatic rebellion is in the making. In an unprecedented move, 58 former EU ambassadors have publicly called on EU leaders to SANCTION ISRAEL. Let’s build on the momentum and take a concrete step to end the famine. If leaders escape to their holiday villas, we’ll bring this call to their doorsteps so they can't miss it.
