Georgia's democracy is under dire threat, and its defenders are being attacked and intimidated by police and special forces.

The country could be the next to join the EU. But its pro-Russia billionaire leader is working to dismantle democracy and drag it back into despotism as another one of Putin's puppet states.

And he’s using a repressive new anti-NGO law straight out of Putin’s playbook to do it.

Georgians have flooded the streets to fight the law – and they need our help! These are the biggest protests in the country’s modern history, but demonstrators are being beaten and civil society organisations are under attack.

Experts think the courts will strike down the law, but local groups don’t think they’ll survive that long. That’s where we come in: a global spotlight can help civil society survive until the danger has passed.
