To the head of Guyana’s Environmental Protection Agency Khemraj Parsram, the president of Guyana Irfaan Ali and Exxon CEO Darren Woods:

As concerned global citizens, we urgently call on you to do all you can to cancel all current and planned oil and gas exploration and production in Guyana. Exxon’s investment is a bad deal for the people of Guyana. It is turning the country from a carbon sink to a carbon bomb, threatening precious biodiversity hotspots of the Caribbean. This seriously undermines Guyana’s commitment to going 100% renewable under the Paris Agreement.

Exxon is building its biggest drilling project ever -- to pump over 10 billion barrels of oil right off the Caribbean Sea, home to endangered turtles, whales, and precious marine life.

But now, one man can seriously hamper this catastrophic project.

Khemraj Parsram, the head of the Guyanese environmental body, will decide whether to grant Exxon a new permit to continue this devastating operation. We only have few weeks to make sure he stands strong against Exxon – and here’s the plan:
