Draw the line: Hands off our data

To the EU commission and all EU leaders:

As an EU citizen, I condemn the unlawful actions of U.S. immigration agencies and demand that any EU-US visa deal include strict limits on data access, full public transparency, and democratic oversight. Our fingerprints and other biometric data are personal and permanent – and should not be handed to U.S. border authorities.

Draw the line: Hands off our data
US immigration agencies are out of control. They took Liam on his way home from preschool. They shot Alex and Renee dead in the street. They detained Donna, an Irish grandmother with a green card, for five months.

Now, the EU Commission is striking up a travel deal with President Trump that could pave the way for our fingers prints and facial data to be made available to these agencies – and it’s moving forward fast, behind closed doors.

Our history has taught us how this kind of state-powered violence can erode civil rights – how it can destroy families, neighbourhoods, and communities.

Let’s demand that the EU commission keep our most personal and permanent data out of U.S. immigration enforcement systems! If enough of us join, we’ll make this campaign famous with a major newspaper ad and deliver it straight to Brussels.
