Thanks for adding your name to protect Canadians’ online privacy. Let’s supercharge our call by sending a note to Justice Minister Peter Mackay and Public Safety Minister Steve Blaney, then use the Facebook and Twitter tools on the next page!

Here are some points to help draft your note, but remember, thoughtful and personal notes go further:
  • Your government is taking advantage of Amanda Todd’s and Rehtaeh Parsons’s tragic deaths to invade our privacy.
  • The so-called cyber bullying bill attacks our civil liberties by making it easier for authorities to spy on our online activity and to covertly track our movements using our own phones.
  • The government should withdraw the bill and then let MPs vote on a law that addresses cyber bullying without also violating our privacy rights.
