As concerned citizens across the globe, we urgently call on you to recognise the fundamental human right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment. This will help communities, lawmakers, judges, and whole nations in securing better environmental protection and access to human rights. The UN Human Rights Council has already done its part by passing a Resolution confirming the right with an overwhelming majority. Now it’s up to the UN General Assembly to do the same so all life on Earth can thrive.

Recognise the right to a healthy environment
“Sacrifice zones” are on the rise across the planet – toxic dumps of plastic waste, heavy metal contamination, or coal ash piled over communities in the name of profit. Many people live, get sick, and die there.

They’re treated like disposable humans… but we can take a strong stand against this injustice.

The UN is considering whether to declare the right to a healthy environment a fundamental human right. Better yet – we have a powerful ally on the inside who’ll take our voices straight to the General Assembly.

When one million Avaazers speak, leaders at the UN who aren’t used to public pressure take notice. So let’s make our call impossible to ignore – sign to call for an end to deadly sacrifice zones!
