We urge you to condemn the Israeli government's policy of supporting settlers in evicting Grandma Nora's family and hundreds of other Palestinian families from their homes in Jerusalem. My name is Nora, I’m a Palestinian from Jerusalem. Israeli authorities and Israeli settler organizations have been trying to take over our home in the Old City of Jerusalem for more than 45 years. In 2016, Israeli courts banned my sons, daughter and grandchildren from living with me and my elderly husband in our family home we have rented since 1953, before Jerusalem was occupied. Today, my family is under imminent risk of forced eviction by Israeli authorities in favor of an Israeli settler organization.

We will lose our home to Israeli settlers and Israeli security forces. They are trying their hardest to push us out, and I’m writing to you today because I urgently need everyone’s help to stop them.

Back in 2015, Avaaz members signed a petition demanding for this decision to be reversed, and public pressure is one of the main reasons the eviction has been postponed. But now we are under attack again from the far right Israeli government. They’re planning to push my family and I out in less than 10 days.

If we show them that thousands of people are standing with my family, we could get them to drop the case entirely and let us stay in our home.
