As a child, what Dr. Kalam lacked in wealth, he made up for with tenacity and big dreams -- rising to become India’s leading scientist and “missile man” and eventually occupying one of the country’s highest offices -- President of India. Despite all his power and achievements he remained humble and approachable, and that’s what made him a beloved leader.
