As citizens from the EU and around the world, we are alarmed by Israel’s latest decision and ongoing violence against Palestinians in the West Bank. Aggression and violations of international law must not be rewarded. The EU must immediately review and freeze the EU–Israel Association Agreement, and institute sanctions on Israel if the plan to expand control over the occupied West Bank is not rescinded.

Israel is moving to seize the West Bank. The Israeli cabinet approved a plan to allow de facto annexation of most of the occupied territory, in violation of international law.

The plan threatens to tear families from their land to make way for illegal settlements, cut off farmers from their fields, and force residents to pass through checkpoints and roadblocks just to reach their neighbours.

This is not right – Palestinians should be able to move with dignity, peace, and security in their own land.
