Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram bosses:

Instagram is rewarding the sexualisation and exploitation of children. Allowing parents to manage the Instagram accounts of pre-teen kids risks turning the platform into a ‘marketplace of girls’. You can end this now.

This will be hard to read. A blockbuster investigative report looked at thousands of Instagram accounts run for little girls by their parents, all featuring suggestive poses and revealing clothes. These are some of the (very disturbing) comments:

  • On an early adolescent in a lace robe, string bikini, and eyeshadow: "Yummie." "Love that teen body." "I will sleep with you in the future."
  • On a 10-year-old in a crop top: "Those two little things look great thru ur top."
  • On a 5-year-old in a bikini: "You're so sexy."
The moms are in it for the cash and clout they get from the brands that buy their influence and the fans who pay for pictures and videos. Instagram is in it for the traffic. But all that comes at an unimaginable cost for the girls.

Mark Zuckerberg doesn't want to kill this cash cow, but he can end this horror RIGHT NOW by banning parent-managed accounts. Sign now and we'll take this message to the streets at Instagram's headquarters.
