Justice is the heart of this nation. Provide a valid explanation for the last minute removal of Justice Chamberlain from the Palestine Action judicial review or risk a major blow to public trust. Public confidence in the High Court depends on transparency, independence and clear reasoning.

What happened to Justice Chamberlain?
This High Court judge has a real record of standing up to the government. But at the very last minute, he was taken off the crucial review (happening right now) that will decide whether the government was right to label Palestine Action a terrorist group.

If their proscription stands, over 2,200 peaceful protesters, many over the age of 60, risk being branded as terrorists and could face up to 14 years in prison.

Removing a High Court judge from a case is unusual so close to a hearing date - and the Ministry of Justice has refused to provide an explanation.

Public confidence depends on transparency and independence. The Ministry of Justice must provide a valid explanation or risk a major blow to public trust.
