Stand with the Maasai
To President William Ruto:
As citizens from across the world, we are deeply concerned that public land in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, which is a cornerstone of Maasai cultural heritage and one of the world’s greatest nature reserves, is being given away to a private individual. This is clearly not right and the world will not look away. We call on you to urgently intervene and put an end to this violence and ensure this land remains in the hands of the Maasai community, where it belongs.

A private individual has just been allowed to take a whopping 4,720 acres of public land inside one of the world’s most celebrated nature reserves.
The Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya isn't just a tourist attraction or wildlife sanctuary -- it’s a cornerstone of Maasai cultural heritage and home to the Maasai people, who have long been guardians of the land.
And yet now, thanks to a controversial court decision, one man could be recognised as the private owner of a section of this ancestral land, at great risk to the Maasai community.
We've stood with the Maasai before (and won!) -- join this urgent appeal to President Ruto so he intervenes and puts this iconic land back into the hands of the community where it belongs. Sign and share now.
