Help stop Maasai mass evictions!

Help stop Maasai mass evictions!
The Maasai of Ngorongoro are running out of time.

For years, the Tanzanian government has been on the attack -- burning homes and trying to get rid of entire communities to use their lands for luxury tourism and trophy hunting.

Right now, two presidential commissions are openly pushing for mass evictions -- thousands of families could lose water, medical care, and grazing rights in weeks.

The Maasai's lives are deeply woven into this soil. Their cattle graze here, their children play here, and their ancestors are buried in the grasslands they've safeguarded for generations. This is home.

But if the government succeeds, the lifeblood that has kept these grasslands thriving could be lost forever, and the Maasai simply don't have the money for more expensive legal battles.

They are asking for our urgent support.

Together, we could fund top lawyers to challenge new evictions in court, protect Maasai families at risk, and back a model of conservation that doesn't erase the very people who make it work. You'll also support Avaaz campaigns defending land, culture, and the balance of all life on Earth.

Avaaz members have already helped to fund important Maasai court victories in recent years. By securing court orders that prevented forced evictions in Kimotorok, Pololeti, and Ngorongoro, thousands have been able to remain on their ancestral lands.

Now they need our solidarity again, please donate what you can now.
