Libya: say NO to gender apartheid

To Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, Prime Minister of Libya:

We are horrified by Libya's recently announced plan to launch an all out war on women's rights.  As citizens of the world committed to human rights for everyone, everywhere, we call on Prime Minister Dbeibeh to put a stop to this plan immediately and to respect the rights of all women and girls in Libya.

Libya: say NO to gender apartheid
Soon, Libyan women could be living under crushing, Taliban-style rules: forced go fully veiled, forbidden from speaking to unmarried men, denied passports, and monitored at all times by morality police.

It's a cramped, fearful, oppressive way to live -- which is exactly what the officials who announced the plan want!

But Libya's Prime Minister can still step in and quash the plan. He desperately needs UN support to back the legitimacy of his government against a rival regime. If enough of us speak up for Libyan women we can pressure the UN and Libya to stop this before it starts. Sign now!
