Send children to school, not mines!

To G7 leaders meeting in France:

We urge you to support the UN proposal for a Global Minerals Trust to end child labour in mining. Make this a global system to protect the most vulnerable, ensure fair benefits, and give countries real oversight of the resources on their land. You have the power to set a clear precedent: no community should be sacrificed for the world’s technological future.

Send children to school, not mines!
Like every child, Muntosh in the Democratic Republic of the Congo deserves to learn, play, and grow up safely.

Yet ever since corporate neglect killed his brother in a mine collapse when he was only 6 years old, battery manufacturers are exploiting Muntosh and more than a million children like him who suffer and risk their life daily extracting cobalt to enrich Apple, Tesla, and the like.

But another way is possible.

Muntosh has returned to school thanks to humanitarian support, and many more children could follow if G7 leaders act: end child labour in cobalt mines and invest in education and health from mining revenues.

The G7 meets in just 10 days. And the tech lobby is already making its voice heard but their only concern seems not to run out of minerals to build AI, phones and laptops. We need to make sure the children risking their lives to extract them are heard too. Sign today and help create a public outcry leaders cannot ignore.
