To the European Union, the US, Japan, and all trade partners of Myanmar:

We call on you to do everything in your power to help stop the massacres in Myanmar. Immediately enforce targeted sanctions against businesses run by the Myanmar military, freeze assets of the generals, and stop any arms sales into the country. The military regime must immediately stop its crackdown, and hand back power to those democratically elected by the people of Myanmar.

Soldiers casually firing at unarmed civilians, innocent people murdered in broad daylight, activists tortured to death.

It’s a massacre.

Myanmar’s military is brutally showing that they’re prepared to slaughter as many of their own citizens as necessary to remain in power... we can’t allow that to happen!

Next week, EU foreign ministers meet to debate sanctions against businesses with ties to the Myanmar military. Japan, one of Myanmar’s biggest trade partners, is also coming under pressure to follow suit. Now, it’s on us to ramp up the pressure and stand with the people of Myanmar, who are fighting for their lives and freedom. Let's do it!
