Stop Nestlé from bottling California's water
To Governor Jerry Brown and the California Water Resource Control Board:
While California is facing record drought conditions, it is unconscionable that Nestlé would continue to bottle the state’s precious water, export it, and sell it for profit. As a concerned citizen, I call on you to immediately stop Nestlé’s bottling operations in California, and to implement new, sustainable regulation that protects California’s underground and aboveground water. We urge you to put current and future generations before the profits of powerful corporations and industries.

Nestlé is making a killing despite the drought. They pump millions of gallons of underground water a year and resell it for 1,000 times the cost of tap water. What’s worse, they’re not only bottling water in some of the most drought stricken areas in California, but they’re earning billions off a resource that should be a fundamental human right.
There’s already a growing movement in California to stop Nestlé’s operations -- let’s join their call and put Governor Jerry Brown in the spotlight nationwide, so he really feels the pressure.
Sign the petition then share this with everyone. When we reach 100,000 signers, Avaaz will take out ads in Brown’s hometown featuring families from the driest areas where Nestlé operates.
