Stop Nestlé's water grab

To Nestlé CEO Tim Brown, California Governor Jerry Brown, and the California Water Resource Control Board:

While California is facing record drought conditions, it is unconscionable that Nestlé would continue to bottle the state’s precious water, export it, and sell it for profit. As a concerned citizen, I call on you to immediately stop Nestlé’s bottling operations in California, and to implement new, sustainable regulation that protects California’s underground and aboveground water. We urge you to put current and future generations before the profits of powerful corporations and industries.

Stop Nestlé's water grab

California’s severe drought means water rationing for families -- there’s only enough to last the state one more year. But the world’s largest food company, Nestlé, continues to bottle hundreds of millions of gallons, so it can sell it back to Californians at a 1000% profit!

Plundering the people's water in a crisis should be illegal and now major media is reporting that Nestlé is even using expired permits as it pursues profit. Governor Brown can stop this and a massive national outcry will expose the scandal and force him to act before it's too late.

Avaaz staff are moving right now to rent billboards in Governor Brown's home district -- sign the petition and help make sure our message is as big as possible when the ads go live.
