We are deeply concerned for the families left without a home after the historic L.A. fires. We urge you to make fossil fuel corporations pay their fair share for the damage caused by climate disasters. For decades, these companies wrecked our climate, which  led to increased floods, storms and extreme heat, devastating lives and communities. Your leadership can help L.A. rebuild, and set l a global blueprint for states and governments to follow. We are counting on you!

This isn’t just a tragedy. It’s a betrayal.

For decades, oil giants like Chevron and Exxon did everything they could to stop climate action. They buried science, spread lies, and chose profit over people. They knew this future was coming. And they chose it for us.

And now, while governments set up funds to fight the climate emergency, guess who’s footing the $50 billion bill? Taxpayers. Not the corporations raking in billions as the planet burns.

But we can change this -- together: a groundbreaking law can make polluters pay for the harm they’ve caused. We did it in New York last month, and California’s Governor Gavin Newsom can do the same.
