Stand with the bin men!

To Keir Starmer, Birmingham City Council and all councils nationwide:

We call on all local councils and the UK Government to stop the proposed pay cuts for Birmingham's bin workers — and to ensure essential workers across the country are treated with dignity.
Cutting the wages of those who do the hardest jobs, especially during a cost of living crisis, is unjust and inhumane. This is about more than one city — it's about standing up to growing inequality and protecting the rights of working people across the UK. End this humiliation. No pay cuts for essential workers — now or ever.

Stand with the bin men!
Rats the size of an arm scurrying across the streets, the smell of faeces permeating in the air, rubbish scattered across the streets of the city.

This is Birmingham today – as bin men are on strike for over a month now.

But contrary to some claims, they are not fighting for more money. They are fighting against humiliating pay cuts that would plunge them into poverty – and strike is their only tool.

The situation is at breaking point and the strike could spread nationwide – but there is hope!

The council is about to make a decision, and public pressure could make them change course. Join people from all over Britain, and we’ll send a united message to all councils and the national government: Stop the humiliation and don’t cut the pay of essential workers – treat those who do the hardest jobs in our society with dignity and respect!
