Save Africa's Eden

To Pohamba Shifeta, Minister of Environment and Tourism in Namibia:

As global citizens, we urgently call on you to revoke the drilling permit that allows ReconAfrica to destroy the wilderness and threaten the local community culture to search for oil. We urge you to stand with the Kavango communities and protect the Okavango Delta!

Save Africa's Eden
I live in the sprawling grassy plains of the Okavango Delta, home to Africa’s largest remaining populations of elephants and black rhinos – and they’re in danger.

My community is trying to stop a Canadian oil giant that’s ripping through this lush wildlife wonderland. The Environment Minister, Pohamba Shifeta, could stop it all but he’s not feeling enough pressure.

He’s delayed a crucial decision on our legal appeal for more than a year. But together we can make sure he feels the heat!

We’re running out of time! This company will keep drilling until they find oil, poisoning the waters of this fragile sanctuary and endangering its elephants. Will you join with my community to demand that Minister Shifeta force them to stop? Add your name and ask your friends to join, and we will take to the streets and march the massive call straight to the Minister.
