Ban Israel from the Paris Olympics
Next month, the world will turn its eyes to the Olympics in Paris.

36,000 of those who could be watching with us from Gaza are dead. Children who dreamed of one day competing are buried under the rubble of their homes.

The lucky ones who survived won’t be able to watch, never mind dream of taking part: all communication has reportedly been cut in Rafah, and many children have had their limbs torn from them - or are teetering on the brink of death from starvation.

Yet if Israel gets its way, Israeli athletes will proudly represent their country while the government continues its deadly assault on starving survivors in Gaza - the government has just announced its willingness to continue the war for seven more months.

This is not normal, and we don’t need to pretend that it is: as the world comes together for the Olympics, we have the chance to send a message that the mass killing of civilians will not be tolerated by the global community.
