Palestine Action: Protesting genocide isn’t terrorism

To Members of Parliament:

The Government’s proposal to proscribe Palestine Action is an absurd and dangerous misuse of anti-terror laws. You must vote against the move when it comes to Parliament.

Palestine Action: Protesting genocide isn’t terrorism
The Government has announced plans to label activist group Palestine Action a terrorist group. This dangerous and unprecedented misuse of anti-terror powers would put the group, known for non-violent protests in solidarity with Palestine, in the same bucket as ISIS and Boko Haram.

The move comes after Palestine Action staged a daring protest inside an RAF base. The action was to highlight the UK’s complicity in Israel’s war crimes, and involved spraying red paint on two planes that they say are used to “collect intelligence, refuel fighter jets and transport weapons to commit genocide in Gaza.”

There’s no doubt what Palestine Action did was illegal. They’d be the first to accept that. But classing them as terrorists would be a serious misuse of counter-terrorism laws. We need to show the Government that the British public will not stand for this attack on the right to protest - and that MPs must vote down the proposal when it comes to Parliament.
