Pep: Speak up for Sudanese lives

To Pep Guardiola, Manchester City coach:

We, citizens of the world and football fans, urge you to speak out for over 260,000 people trapped in El Fasher, Sudan – starving, under siege, and with no way out. You’ve shown courage before by speaking up for Gaza. Now, as manager of Manchester City, owned by the UAE, which is backing the fighters attacking civilians, your voice could help open a humanitarian corridor and save lives. Silence is dangerous. Please, speak out.

Pep: Speak up for Sudanese lives
260,000 people are trapped in El Fasher, Sudan. No food. No water. No way out. Fighters are closing in and families are digging shallow graves to bury their loved ones. Experts say the city could fall any moment, and when it does, they fear mass atrocities.

But one unlikely voice could help to put on the spotlight the looming massacre: Pep Guardiola.

He’s not a politician. He’s not a diplomat. But as the star manager of Manchester City – a club owned by the government of the United Arab Emirates – Pep’s in a rare position to be heard by those who can help stop the killing: the UAE is backing the brutal RSF forces surrounding El Fasher.

It’s a big ask, but he’s spoken out powerfully on Sudan before, and we can ask him to do it once more, when it matters most – by calling on the UAE to support safe passage for civilians.

Let’s remind Pep of his power: add your name and when our call is massive, we’ll deliver our voices directly to him in Manchester and through the media:
