Up to 400,000 people have been killed as a vicious civil war descends into full-blown genocide. Rival armies are committing mass atrocities, and millions have run for their lives, creating the biggest humanitarian crisis on Earth.

So much blood has been spilled, you can see it in satellite images from space.
