Lammy: Stand up for Sudan lives

To David Lammy:

We urge you to make the protection of civilians THE top priority of the Sudan Ministerial Conference on April 15. This is your moment to lead: use your influence to put the telecommunications blackout on the agenda – and lead a UK push to support a UN technical mission to restore telecommunications networks across Sudan, as it’s a lifeline for millions and a critical civilian protection measure under international law. You said it yourself: we need to wake up and step up. It’s in your hands now!

Lammy: Stand up for Sudan lives
People in Sudan are screaming for help. Children starve to death in their mothers arms, women are hunted and brutally raped, and entire villages are wiped from the face of the earth. All while the world looks away. Again.

But in just a few days, the UK Foreign Secretary is about to host a key international conference on the conflict – and he’s in control of the agenda.

That’s where we come in: Let’s give him the public backing he needs to do the right thing. With so many lives lost, protecting innocent civilians MUST be at the heart of these talks! If our call is massive, Avaaz will work with allies in London to make sure Lammy hears us loud and clear.
