Set Snowden free

To Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff:

Edward Snowden gave up his job, home and friends to give the world the truth about American spying. As a result his passport has been revoked by his own government, which is threatening him with a long prison sentence. Right now he's still stuck in legal limbo in Moscow on a one-year visa. Brazil, one of the top targets of US government spying, can and should offer Edward Snowden immediate and permanent asylum.

Set Snowden free
Edward Snowden left his whole life behind when he revealed that spies are stalking us all across the internet. Now, alone and forgotten, he’s waiting for the Russian winter to close in. But we have a chance to rescue him from this precarious place and give him a warm welcome in Brazil.

Time is running out on Edward’s one-year visa. Sharks are circling to drag him back to the US where he is unlikely to face a fair trial, but Brazil’s president Dilma offers a warm ray of hope. She hates mega spy programme PRISM, has already stood up to Obama and is working to safeguard her people from spying. Like other senior politicians in Brazil who have already spoken out, Dilma likely wants to support Snowden -- but US spies and her own national security establishment are pushing back.

Massive global support plus backing from Avaaz’s 6 million members in Brazil, can encourage her to do the right thing for this brave whistleblower. Click below and forward this to everyone to help get asylum for Snowden:
