Overnight, Israel sent hundreds of warplanes to bomb Iran. This reckless attack - which even Trump’s government has described as ‘unilateral’ - will only lead to further escalation, and it risks dragging the whole region further into carnage.

In the last two years, as well as untold war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank, Israel has carried out major bombing campaigns in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran. In that time, world leaders, especially in Europe, have made clear to Israel that they will face no repercussions or consequences, no matter how serious their crimes. This cannot go on.

Strongly worded condemnations simply are not enough. Our governments must act - with sanctions, arms embargoes, and cutting off trade.
