WAKE UP DAVID LAMMY: Intervene in hunger strikes to save lives
To Justice Secretary David Lammy:
6 lives are in grave danger. We call on you to prevent the deaths of Palestine Action protesters on hunger strike. Strikers are in need of urgent medical care. They have not yet stood trial and have had their right to normal bail conditions removed. Some have already been in prison since 2024 and do not have trial dates until next year. This is abnormal and inhumane. You must intervene now so that they do not die.

As you read this, six young protesters (pictured) who have not yet stood trial are too weak to stand, mouths too ulcerated to speak and are at imminent risk of death.
Some have not eaten for 46 days.
To put that into perspective, 24 year old Martin Hurson, an IRA hunger striker, died on the 46th day of his hunger strike in 1981.
Half of them have been in jail for more than a year without trial and yet, they have been denied normal bail conditions. And crucially, they are not receiving the medical care they desperately need.
This is a catastrophic failure of the justice system. There’s no time to waste - the imminent risk of death increases with every hour. David Lammy must intervene immediately:
