As citizens from around the world, we are deeply concerned about plans to build Olympic stadiums on Brisbane’s Victoria Park – sacred land of the Yagara and Turrbal peoples, and one of the last remaining green lungs of the city. First Nations custodians have requested protection under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage Protection Act, but you have not responded. We urge you to end the silence, protect Barrambin, and prevent its destruction.

My name is Gaja Kerry Charlton. I am a First Nations Elder of the original tribes of Magandjin (Brisbane) in Australia, and I need your help to protect my people’s heritage from Olympic destruction.

Barrambin (Victoria) Park is our ancestral site that we’ve defended for thousands of years, and now the government wants to pave it over to create stadiums for an Olympic event that will last just a few days!

We’ve been working hard to build a united resistance, and we're confident we can stop the project if you join us – but we have to act fast.
Australia’s federal Minister for the Environment can stop the destruction immediately by designating the land as a protected cultural site.

He’s stalling – but insiders tell us that shining a global spotlight on this issue can push him to respond to our request before construction begins.
