To the leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France, the US and the EU:

We call on you to urgently back an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, and devise a peace deal that includes a plan for monitoring the ceasefire, increased autonomy to the Eastern states, economic aid to all areas strangled by the conflict, democratic reforms, and a commitment to a neutral Ukraine that upholds the delicate military balance in the region, and opens up economic relations to the East and West. As citizens from the Ukraine, Russia, the US, the EU, and across the world we believe that only a compromise solution, where all sides are held to account, can stop the war.

Ukraine is on the brink of being the battlefield for a highly dangerous West vs Russia proxy war. But in 24 hours President Merkel of Germany will bring key leaders together to push for a ceasefire, and she urgently needs all of our support.

Both Russia and the West are to blame for this mess. Ukraine’s delicate bridge between them was blown up by EU, NATO and Putin’s expansionist operations. It doesn't matter now which came first, what matters is urgent de-escalation to stop an all-out war. That's where we come in.
