Schoolbells, not bomb sirens

To the leaders of the United States, Israel, Iran, and all governments involved in the conflict:

As citizens from across the world, we call on you to immediately comply with international humanitarian law, cease all strikes on schools, homes, and civilian areas, and commit to de-escalation and diplomacy. Over 1,100 children have already been killed or injured. Protect civilian lives –  especially children –  and pursue peace before this conflict engulfs the entire region.

Schoolbells, not bomb sirens
How many more children have to die?

First it was tiny bodies pulled from the rubble in Gaza – now the US is bombing schoolchildren in Iran, Israel is striking families on the beach in Beirut, and Iran is retaliating with missiles and drones across the Middle East. 1,100 children have been killed or injured already.

Enough: most of us want a world where children listen for the sound of schoolbells, not bomb sirens, in the morning. And it is time for leaders to listen.

Let’s build the largest global call for peace the world has ever seen – and when it’s massive, Avaaz will make sure key leaders feel the pressure.
