To President Lula of Brazil and world leaders:

As concerned citizens, we urge you to take action and declare the Amazon a fossil fuel non-proliferation zone. The region is on the verge of a collapse that could kill thousands of species - and impact human life worldwide. We urge you to turn away from oil and gas now and prevent this global climate catastrophe.

Stop drilling in the Amazon
Rare pink dolphins are washing up on the shores of the Amazon, ‘boiled’ to death in drought-stricken rivers. Entire cities have been stranded, drinking dirty water -- and uncontrollable wildfires have been raging for weeks.

These are signs of the Amazon’s climate collapse -- yet the Brazilian president just announced plans for oil exploration in the Amazon Basin!

This is madness -- and hundreds of Indigenous and environmental groups are rising up to stop it.

They’re calling for the Amazon to become a fossil fuel non-proliferation zone -- and as leaders gather for the COP28 climate summit, now is the time to supercharge their call.

Sign now to call on President Lula of Brazil and other leaders to immediately stop all drilling in the Amazon -- and Avaaz will bring your voices straight into the climate talks!
