UK: Stop the headlines of hate

To Paula Nickolds, Managing Director of John Lewis, Richard Pennycook, Chief Executive of The Cooperative Group and other Daily Mail advertisers:

As British people concerned over the hateful agenda of the Daily Mail in their coverage of vulnerable refugees and migrants, which has led to spike in hate crimes in our communities, we call on your to cancel all advertising campaigns with the paper unless the editor responsible for this corrosion of public decency, Paul Dacre, resigns. Your advertising in the Daily Mail is funding hate and must be stopped.

UK: Stop the headlines of hate
Lego just announced it wouldn’t advertise in the Daily Mail after the paper’s hateful coverage of refugees and if we strike while the iron is hot, we can get other big-name advertisers to follow suit!

This could be THE gamechanger we need to get hate out of the headlines -- led by bullying editor Paul Dacre, The Daily Mail is Britain’s most bigoted media outlet, but it is heavily reliant on advertising revenue from respectable companies. One of the biggest, John Lewis, prides itself on its progressive values and has just appointed a new boss who is coming under pressure to sever ties with the Mail over its hateful coverage.

Avaazers across Britain could tip the balance! Let’s build a giant public call for John Lewis to pull its Christmas ads from the Mail unless Dacre resigns, and when enough of us are on board, we’ll deliver our voices direct to John Lewis’s flagship store on Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year! Sign now and share with everyone you know!
