To Karolina Skog, Minister for the Environment:

As a citizens worried about animal welfare, I am asking you to make euthanasia in Swedish zoos illegal. This scandalous practice is contrary to the ethics of conservation and cannot be justified by ecological or economical reasons. We want “surplus animals” to be automatically sent to an orphanage -- this should be the only way forward for zoos in Sweden.

Potter, Weasley, Granger and Dolores. All were healthy lion cubs born at the Borås zoo in Sweden. All were euthanized as they were considered “surplus animals” -- but if we call on the government in our thousands, we can force them to ban this immoral practice!

Zoos often try to make money by marketing cute animal cubs, then “zoothanise” them soon after -- when they become less profitable and more expensive to manage. How can this happen in the 21st century!

Lions are a vulnerable species and these cubs should have been sent to an orphanage in their natural environment -- sign this petition to force the Swedish government to make zoothanisia illegal. Join now!
