We are appalled by the crackdown on gay people in Dar Es Salaam and Tanzania, and call on you to urgently protect all people’s rights according to international human rights standards. By violating basic rights you risk losing international support and tourism because a country where gay people cannot live freely is not a safe destination for business or travel.

We need to move fast -- a leading politician in Tanzania just announced he'll send a squad to hunt down and arrest gay people in 48 hours.

He has asked residents to report gay people and says he already has over 200 names, and while the squad launches Monday, raids and arrests are already underway. This is outrageous! We can't sit back and watch this happen, let's raise a massive outcry to pressure Tanzanian leaders to stop.
