As citizens from across the world, we call on you to meet the demands of villagers harmed by the REGROW project, and suspend all funding to the Tanzanian government until it restores Ruaha National Park’s 1998 boundaries, halts all evictions in Mbarali and surrounding districts, and restores communities' rights to their land, livelihoods and basic public services.

World Bank: Fix your mess in Tanzania
Communities in Tanzania took on the World Bank – and won.
They spoke out when the Bank helped fund cattle seizures, forced displacement, and extrajudicial killings by government rangers to make way for a tourism park – and their courage turned the project into an international embarrassment, forcing the Bank to cancel it.

Yet more than 84,000 people, including Maasai, Sangu and Datoga Indigenous peoples, are still at risk of eviction. Families have not been compensated for stolen cattle or destroyed livelihoods. And now the World Bank is trying to walk away.
